Dr Gaymon Bennett

Associate Professor
SHPRS Leadership
School for the Future of Innovation in Society
Arizona State University, USA

His work focuses on how biology, technology, and the human sciences can be brought into a more productive relationship. As part of this work, I investigate how truth, branding, and power get connected in biology. This includes thinking about how biology today–amidst talk of “democratization”–is inflecting (or not) existing power relations, including relations among global high-tech, big data, and big biotech. The question is whether and how new biological knowledge and capabilities can also be a source for the invention of new ethical and economic practices as well as new counter-politics.
