OAKS VIRTUAL FUNDRAISING MARATHON
Keeping its tradition of excellence, Kinnaird College has started a Law School and a Food and Nutrition department. In order to accommodate the students and the improve the infrastructure a new building is being constructed. This will house a state of the art digital library, modern laboratories, class rooms and admin rooms. The total estimated cost of the project was 500 million, which has increased to 600Million due to the global situation. As we continue to navigate this historic global crisis, let us remain mindful of the local impact. Students still hold out hope to us, as they enter a new way of learning with us and remain determinedly on course to secure the career they have dreamed about. This Complex is a coming together of the old and the new and will tie up the visual and the academic elements of the greater master plan of Kinnaird College.
Oaks as the Alumni of the college launched this initiative on the 8th of March 2021 to raise funds for this massive project. In our social media campaign, we celebrate the amazing women of Kinnaird and honour those who shine brightest as Pakistan’s leading ladies in every field. We highlight the precious memories made during college days. Special souvenirs have been made and raffle draws and online auctions are a part of this virtual fundraising marathon. People like Dr Mira Phailbus, Mrs Souriya Anwar, Moneeza Hashmi, Justice Nasira Iqbal, Fawad Hassan, Hassan Sheheryar, Jugan Kazim, Zeba Bakhtiar, Hadiqa Kiani have endorsed this campaign. The focus of this campaign, “Together for Kinnaird” is not only to raise funds but to bring together the thousands of KCites, old and new, from all around the world, onto a single platform, for a cause. This is Kinnaird spirit at its best, Empowering women through education, Empowering the women of Pakistan for a brighter future of our country.
Dr Rukhsana David the Principal of Kinnaird College has given this project whole hearted support and Kinnaird is a partner in this virtual fundraising marathon, which will go on for a month. Our key priority for 2021 is to raise the required funds for the construction of the Library Complex on our campus.
